Giancarlo Esposito (born April 26, 1958) is an American actor and director. He is best known for his roles in film and television, including his portrayal of Gustavo "Gus" Fring in the AMC series Breaking Bad. Esposito has also appeared in several feature films, including The Usual Suspects (1995), Malcolm X (1992), Do the Right Thing (1989), and Mo' Better Blues (1990).
In The Usual Suspects, Esposito played the role of FBI Agent Jack Baer, who is investigating a group of con artists. The film was directed by Bryan Singer and also starred Kevin Spacey, Stephen Baldwin, Benicio del Toro, and Gabriel Byrne. The movie was a critical and commercial success, winning several awards, including two Academy Awards.
Esposito has had a long and successful career in both film and television. In addition to his role in Breaking Bad, he has appeared in several other popular TV series, including Homicide: Life on the Street, The Get Down, and Better Call Saul. He has been nominated for several awards throughout his career, including four Emmy Awards and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
